Good Mexican food place. Fast and friendly service. They serve a great chili relleno, even the rice and beans are good. My only nit is with the cheese enchiladas. Inside, there's American cheese.(?) Really? Why oh why Lucy? And your frozen margaritas are first rate too. Only because of the enchilada ( which tasted good by the way), they just missed a five-star!

This is a repeat visit for us. We are never disappointed. Cold Shiner, great Margaritas, fresh chips and salsa and great"like mama's" Mexican food. It always busy; the local folks come here, which says volumes. If you visit Schulenburg, TX be sure to come to Lucy Tequila's!

It was a horrendous drive on Good Friday from Houston as it took us two hours to get to Schulenburg from the heavy traffic and construction delays. However we were hungry for a taste of TexMex and Yelp helped us find this jewel. The first and most excellent attribute i noticed when we arrived was it had COVERED PARKING! What a brilliant concept in a Texas restaurant. The restaurant is decorated very nicely- a bit small inside but has a tiny bar too. It was free queso day too! So we had queso with the chips and normal salsa. I had the 1/2 shrimp quesadilla, it came with two nice scoops of guacamole and some pico too. My daughter had the cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Both dishes were very good quality and an excellent value. If I lived in the area, I'd go there for lunch all the time! The waitstaff was right on time with good service.

I ate here a few years ago and at that time it was delicious. We were in the area today and decided to try Lucy Tequila once again. We ordered fajitas and it must have been the wrong thing to order, because it was not steaming hot like I expected it to be when it was brought out. The meat was very chewy and rubbery and dried out like it was reheated leftovers. So dissapointed!

Stopped in to have a bite on a trip between San Antonio and Columbus. The place is very clean and the food was delicious. The portions are huge so be advised - the plates are great for sharing. The red and green salsa they serve both have a wonderful flavor. We ordered the guacamole appetizer and that has to be one of the best guacamoles I've had (and I've had a lot).
Everyone in our family had an excellent plate so I don't think there is anything you could order that would be disappointing. The service was terrific and we plan to come back the next time we are traveling between SA and Houston. The only reason I did not give five stars is because there is something going on with the water and it affects all fountain or water based drinks. So I advise you buy bottled or canned beverages. Other than that it was great!
